Capcom attributes sales increase to Monster Hunter Tri

BY ARCHON

Capcom's 2009 fiscal year (which ends this month) was looking to be tough one. Who could blame them in this economy? However, it looks like they posted a net sales increase of 5.9% for the 9-month reporting period ending in December of 2009.

And how do they account for this gain? They attribute it to the massively successful release of Monster Hunter Tri in Japan of course! If all of Nintendo's marketing for the North American release is effective, I don't doubt they see the same jump in sales come this April 20th when Monster Hunter Tri is released here in the U.S.
